Temporary Vacancy – Admin Support – CJHH

Applications are invited for temporary part-time or full-time secretarial support for a fee earner in CJHH’s Private Client Department in the Port Talbot area.  They are looking for an immediate start (dependent on a clear DBS check), if possible.  The position will initially be for 3 months but may be longer.

The work location is on site.  Experience working in an office environment with knowledge of case management systems is required as is the ability to work as part of a team.  Experience working within the legal sector is also essential.

You must have good communication skills, be computer literate and be able to deal with members of the public and professionals in a calm and constructive manner.

Full-time is 40 hours per week (with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break).  Part-time is 24 hours per week Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, 9am – 5pm (with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break).

Hourly rate: at least £12.50 but will be dependent on your experience.

The position is on a temporary basis to cover long term absence.

A clear DBS is required before a start date can be confirmed.

Tasks will involve the following, but this list is not exhaustive.

  • Dealing with probate, conveyancing and any other private client tasks
  • Taking telephone enquiries and messages and actioning where appropriate
  • Typing work as requested
  • Photocopying, faxing and filing
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail
  • Maintaining fee earner’s diary, making appointments, and arranging meetings
  • Attending on clients to take instructions
  • Completing documents either in paper format or online relevant to the fee earner’s matters
