Here’s what they had to say: “Overview of position:   We’re looking for someone with good technical skills and a personal touch.   The start date is March 2026 but is flexible.  The position is office based in Port Talbot town centre.  You will complete a 6 month probationary period and a clear DBS is required.  References will be sought. Responsibilities: You will manage your own varied caseload of private client and conveyancing matters, including: All aspects of conveyancing including sale, purchase, and remortgage matters Drafting wills and trusts Handling estate administration and probate Building long-term client relationships and contributing to the firm’s continued growth Experience and Skills: At least 3 years PQE working as a Private Client and Conveyancing Solicitor You must be able to work independently and confidently, managing a varied caseload Excellent time management skills Good IT skills including Microsoft packages, case management systems Strong knowledge of wills, probate, trusts and conveyancing matters Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach Strong client-facing skills Attention to detail. Vacancy – Admin Support – CJHH

Applications are invited for a full-time legal secretary to support a fee earner in CJHH’s Private Client Department in the Port Talbot area.  They are looking for an immediate start (dependent on a clear DBS check), if possible (or in the New Year). The work location is on site.  Experience working in an office environment with knowledge of case management systems is required as is the ability to work as part of a team.  Experience working within the legal sector is preferred. You must have good communication skills, be computer literate and be able to deal with members of the public and professionals in a calm and constructive manner. Full-time is 40 hours per week (with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break). Hourly rate: at least £12.50 but will be dependent on your experience. The position is on a permanent basis. A clear DBS is required before a start date can be confirmed. Tasks will involve the following, but this list is not exhaustive. Dealing with probate, conveyancing and any other private client tasks Taking telephone enquiries and messages and actioning where appropriate Typing work as requested Photocopying, faxing and filing Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail Maintaining fee earner’s diary, making appointments, and arranging meetings Attending on clients to take instructions Completing documents either in paper format or online relevant to the fee earner’s matters CJHH are an equal opportunity employer. Annual Dinner – 14 November 2025 – Bookings Now Open!

We return to the Brangwyn Hall for this year’s annual dinner on Friday 14 November 2025.   Our President this year is Paul Bevan of BWL solicitors and our guest speaker is Rhodri Lewis, political correspondent at the BBC. The dress code is, as usual, black tie/posh frock.   BOOKING Places at the dinner are always in demand so please ensure that you complete and return your booking form as soon as possible together with your payment as places will only be reserved upon full payment. Children’s Legal Centre – Request for Assistance

The Children’s Legal Centre is looking for any solicitors who would be prepared to check the resource packs they are preparing for schools to ensure legal accuracy.
