AGM – 21 May 2026 / Request for Nominations for DVP and Committee Members
This year’s AGM will be held on Thursday 21 May 2026 upstairs in The Observatory (SA1). The AGM will start at 6 pm and we hope you can stay for a drink and a chat after the formal proceedings are concluded (likely by 7 pm at the latest). This event is open to all SDLS members and to members of SDJLD. As usual we will be looking to elect a Deputy Vice President at the AGM to take the President’s seat in 2028 after Gareth Jones (who will be elected next month) and Suzanne Thomas (who will be elected next year). Please give some thought to whether you or one of your colleagues would like to be nominated. Qualification for this nomination is that the candidate must have been a practising solicitor for at least 5 years and a member of SDLS at the time of election. Closing date for nominations is close of business on Friday 6 May. We may have a vacant seat on the committee this coming year. If you are interested in joining the committee please let me know. In addition to those elected at the AGM the committee can co-opt another 4 members during the year so this is also an option for anyone wishing to join us.
